Health Canada and Crate & Barrel Canada have issued a national consumer safety recall for Cuisinart-branded metal wire bristle grill brushes included in select multi-piece BBQ tool sets.
The recall was triggered due to severe ingestion hazards. Small steel bristles can loosen during cleaning, detach from the brush head, and adhere unnoticed to grill grates. When food is cooked over the grates, these loose wire fragments can stick to meat or vegetables, posing a severe risk of internal throat, stomach, or intestinal perforation if swallowed—injuries that frequently require emergency surgery.Product Identification & Affected UPCsThe recall applies specifically to metal wire bristle brushes included as part of two popular Cuisinart BBQ tool kits sold in Canada between December 2017 and March 2026:
